The sunny plateau of Ramsau lies like a balcony 350 m above Schladming at the foot of the Dachstein range. The resort stretches along 18 km in a sunny, south-facing direction above the Enns valley. Ramsau is characterized by its 3 different levels:

Ramsauer high plateau
1,100 – 1,400 m
Ideal for gentle hikes and walks

Alpine pasture
1,500 – 1,700 m
For demanding hikes with lots of alpine refuges and inns for refreshment stops

Dachstein Glacier region
up to 2,700 m
Glacier hikes and a variety of demanding climbing routes

The Dachstein Glacier – eternal ice

1,000 m above the mountain pastures at an altitude of 2,700 m above sea level lies Austria's most eastern glacier. Easily accessible on the Dachstein cable car it boasts a fantastic panoramic view.
